At Sterling, we are committed to celebrating our student's accomplishments. Frequent praise, high fives, and fist bumps acknowledge students' hard work. Positive office referral recognize individual student efforts in modeling our building wide expectations of Go Safely, Show Respect, and Be Responsible. We "ring the bell" when students meet a personal or clas goal. Finally, a phone call from the principal or teacher always results in a positive ring-a-ling (sharing the good news of the day). #teamSterling #PowerofOne #celebratelearning

Welcome to Sterling Elementary School

If you are new to the Sterling family, you just entered into a very special school. Sterling is a close-knit educational community that promotes the academic and social development of all students in a safe, friendly environment. We are committed to valuing the unique traits of ALL our learners and invite our families to work in partnership with our school.  This year our school motto is the “power of one.”  We acknowledge the impact a single individual can have on the successful outcome of our students and ensure each Sterling student experiences a trusting relationship within our school.

Our dedicated staff serves approximately 420 students in grades 3rd-5th.  At Sterling, we continue to reach for the stars and set goals leading to student success.  Our school will take time to guide students in charting their progress towards meeting academic and social goals, engage in celebrations when we reach specific milestones, and communicate our approach in achieving individual and team successes.  This year our three building goals are:

Reading: Sterling students will show growth on the STAR Reading assessments. By May 2019 80% of Sterling students will be at or above grade level.

Math: Sterling students will show growth on the STAR Math assessments. By May 2019 75% of Sterling students will be at or above grade level.

Behavior: By May 2019, Sterling students will consistently demonstrate behaviors that reflect a safe, respectful, and responsible school climate as evidenced by a higher ratio of positive versus negative office referrals.

I am honored and humbled to be the principal of this amazing school, as this year will be my fourth year to serve the community in this capacity. I am thrilled to be part of such an outstanding team!   We invite you to join our community as we work together to best serve our students!  It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school.  Up-to-date and additional information will be sent to you though the electronic monthly newsletter and will appear on our school & teacher webpages.  Frequent school happenings & celebrations will be featured on social media: Follow us on Facebook at Sterling Elementary School and Twitter @stelementary.

Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have a suggestion, concern, or just a "good story" to share!    I look forward to working with you and your children!
