Over and over again, I have been told by our docents (tour guides) this year how impressed they are by our students' insights for both grade levels. Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make these Fine Art Field trips a success! Sterling is a truly amazing school with outstanding students, educators, staff, and families.
FYI- The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City is free. It is a wonderful place to visit if you haven't in a while.

As part of Verizon/TCC's quarterly giving back to our community, the District Manager chose our very own Ms. Salas for their Teacher's Rock Campaign for Warrensburg. Ms. Salas was able to pick out $100 worth of school supplies for her classroom. Congratulations to Ms. Salas and Thank you to Verizon/TCC.

4th grade plans to “Make a Difference” in our school by taking up donations of snacks at our program. We like our students to have a snack during the day to keep students fueled for learning. We would love to help support our fellow students by collecting these snacks to provide to all the kids at Sterling Elementary. Here are some examples of snacks you can donate! Please bring to the program!
It would be best if we could get individually packaged ones. Granola bars, Fruit Snacks, Trail Mix, Goldfish, Cheez-its, Graham Crackers, Pretzels, Animal Crackers, Cheese or Peanut Butter Crackers, Cookies, etc.
Our Art student teacher from UCM Miss Crosby led 5th graders through their first day of outdoor urban sketching.

Just a reminder about our STEAM NIGHT on Thursday, February 15th. This year, THREE different robotics teams (from Whiteman AFB, WHS, and UCM's RPDC) will be here putting activities on for our families, West Central Electric will be bringing their "Electric City", dinner is provided (HUGE THANKS to HyVee and Hostess for their donations), and there will be a plethora of stations for our students and families to visit. Doors will open just before 5:30 and we will conclude activities at 7:00 p.m. For your convenience, we will have two doors available for entry (front, west doors and side, south doors).
